Build Identifier: CVS from 02/21/2011

I'm working on getting the builder working with the new EDT compiler and I need a couple small changes. I will attach a patch shortly.

The changes are just exposing a couple methods in an interface that already exist in the implementation, exporting another package in the manifest, and changing a couple methods and a field from private to protected.
