SSH connections to build.eclipse.org and dev.eclipse.org time out after a while.

When this happens to me, the session hangs on the client side and I have to close the terminal window or kill the ssh process from another terminal.

Eventually after hanging for some long amount of time, the connection closes and the terminal is usable again:
Read from remote host build.eclipse.org: Connection timed out
Connection to build.eclipse.org closed.

Is there anything that can be done about this on either the client or server side so that session just closes without hanging first?

I did find this,
http://superuser.com/questions/147873/ssh-sessions-in-xterms-freeze-for-many-minutes-whenever-they-disconnect

I'll close this bug as a worksforme since I now have a way out.
