Build Identifier: 

We would like to have a set of actions related to a particular file revision:

Compare With HEAD
Compare With Parent
Compare With Workspace
Open HEAD Version
Open Selected Version
Open Workspace Version

They can be implemented as object contributions those any third-party plugin can use by implementing an appropriate adapter.
I'm going to upload a patch for review.
