In the Git Repo Explorer use the "Create a new Git repo..." wizard.  Select a path: /opt/pwebster/git/projects/org.eclipse.e4.ui.menu.tests.p3.git and then click "create a bare repo".

It creates the repo correctly, but it is not named org.eclipse.e4.ui.menu.tests.p3.git, instead it is "projects"

Expected org.eclipse.e4.ui.menu.tests.p3.git
