Quick diff is a nice way to see the original code, the hover also shows the code nicely with its original indentation so that it is extremely easy to read the code.

However, 'Press F2 for focus' hides 1 line of the code (see screenshot). This is a bit irritating, and reduces the usability of quick diff hover at times.

Do you have an example/steps?

The screenshot is actually OK. I think Deepak just wants to hide the affordance.

=> Uncheck "Show affordance in hover on how to make it sticky" on the "Text Editors" preference page.

Ha, this is exactly what I wanted, though only for quick diff hover :)

While I do not particularly mind doing this for all hovers, in at least one case the javadoc hover looks a bit odd with the preference disabled. (See screenshot)

I don't want yet another preference, so you have to live with all or nothing ;-)

That's a temporary glitch right after toggling the preference. Resolves itself as soon as you close/reopen the editor.

Yeah, it works after I reopen the editor. I guess I can live with all or nothing. Thanks.
