When debugging an application the "Expressions" view disappears when the program being debugged exits.
If opened when not debugging an application it stays open until the next debugged application exits.
All state in the view is the same when the view is reopened, all entered expressions are still there, but the view simply doesn't stay open.

Does the fix for bug 128066 address the problem for you?

I haven't experienced the problem since the latest update (1.3.1.20100913-1228), so it is possible that it was the fix for bug 128066 that solved it.

Marking as a dupe of bug 128066 as it appears that fix also fixes this one.
