I just connected to the Eclipse Marketplace without problem. Could you try again, please?
If nothing helps, you can try to install directly from the update site. The links can be found at

reducing importance as the repository on download.eclipse.org can be used alternatively
Comment 4 Chris Aniszczyk CLA 2011-02-09 17:53:35 EST

I had the same problem 2 times, mostly restart helped (just reopen the marketplace didn't)

Hi,
I had the same problem. It was caused by default proxy settings in new installation of eclipse. You can disable proxy by going to Window->Preferences->General->Network Connections and changing Active Provider to Direct.

I can reproduce this bug with the following steps (Version: Helios Service Release 2 Build id: 20110301-1815):

- Use Yoxos as marketplace and install some plugins via this marketplace.
- Restart Eclipse after installation
- Open the marketplace window and select the "Installed" tab (still with Yoxos marketplace).
- Now Eclipse fetches some files and the shows exactly this error.

When I try this with the Eclipse marketplace catalog this does not happen.

I see this on two installations, one on Windows 7 64 bit and one on OSX 10.6.8 (both OS with latest patches)
