Hello,

first let me say that Eclipse is a great tool and I like to work with it very much. But what I'm really missing is some options in the search dialog (see below). I've seen that the Aptana Studio (http://www.aptana.com/) has already integrated that options, so maybe someone else would find it useful to integrate them into the standard Eclipse search dialog?

- search in directory -> often I want to have a quick look into some files outside my project files (e.g. how is something done in kernel x.y.z). Currently I use grep for this but it would be great to have something like this directly integrated into Eclipse.

- search in open files -> the open files are the files I currently work with. So often I want to search just in this files instead of the whole project.

See bug 192767. As a workaround you can create create a folder that links to the folder outside your workspace and then search that folder.

We don't plan to add this, see bug 92178.
