In some cases the committer name and commit time could be helpful. Additionally such behavior is default for CVS change set implementation.

Can you have Ilya confirm on this bug that:

a.  authored 100% of the code
b.  has the rights to donate the content to Eclipse
c.  contributes the content under the EPL
