Feature request: Many times, when I commit a set of files, I cancel the dialog and do a 'Team/Create Patch' first for record keeping or porting to another branch or different project. It would be nice to be able to create a patch straight from the dialog. Finding changes is expensive so doing it once is better for this workflow. This could be done by adding 'Create Patch' to the file tree view's context menu.

I had SVN and Git in mind, the two providers I work with the most.

Egit allows creating patches from a commit. Right click on a commit in history view -> "Create Patch..."

Commit dialogs are implemented by repo providers. You should file a bug (enh req) against Subversive (SVN) and EGit (Git).
