When entering a wrong username or password in the database connection dialog, an error message appears. This error message says "". This does not represent the error, though - nobody else is connected to this databse at this moment, i've assured that. 
I've attached a screenshot that shows the error message I received.

The described behavior is correct (also described in our intern trac system) and should be changed.

removed unnecessary check for SQL error
