This is totally a "nice to have" but I think it would improve user experience for many users, especially relative newbies.

With the proliferation of newsgroups, it's sometimes difficult for even a seasoned Eclipse developer to find their way around various project newsgroups. Of course having projects keep their news group links up to date is an important help, but often users will be browsing through the sites trying to find the one that is relevant to their question. Plus, for historical reasons news groups aren't necessarily where they make the most sense, for example the EMF newsgroup isn't actually in modeling. If you look at the main "Eclipse Projects" group it is pretty bewildering.

I wonder is we couldn't think about some kind of organized front end perhaps parallel to the bugzilla and/or (better option I think) the feature categories for the main p2 sites?

I don't really grasp what is being requested here. If a newbie's first experience with a project is via the forums home page, I think we have bigger problems.

Please reopen if you have something specific in mind.
