Description Christian Fecht CLA 2011-01-13 08:33:05 EST
Build Identifier: EGit / JGit 0.10.1

Hi all,

I use EGit / JGit 0.10.1. I came across an inconvenience in the "Create Branch..." dialogue. When creating a new branch on the remote tracking branch "origin/master", the upcoming dialogue proposes "master" as the name of the new branch. Since there is already a branch "master", this leads immediately to an error in the dialogue (see attached screen shot).

Kind Regards,
Christian

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Git Repositories View --> Remote Tracking --> origin/master
2. Right mouse click and choose "Create Branch..." from the context menu
3. The "New Branch" dialogue show up with the error message "Ref refs/heads/master already exists"

After some discussion with Matthias Sohn, I suggest to "fix" this in the way as described in
