I can enable the insertion of a signature using the Control Panel but I can't actually set the value of the signature.

The use of signatures has been disabled because of abuse by spammers. Sorry for the inconvenience; thank the douchebags who want to pollute the community with spam.

Might I suggest then to remove the options from the control panel.  It's a bit confusing as it stands.  Also, please add an entry to the help system where signatures are explained.
