NB : I implemented different createNode() and getChildren() for each subtype of EObject I wanted to show in the outline view. Sorry, but I cannot reproduce this here and the outline works fine in Xtext and all examples. Maybe your label provider returns null as the text for some nodes? By default, such nodes and their children are skipped. Feel free to reopen this with an reproducible example. Thank you for your answer. I was not aware that a node was skipped if its parent's label is null. Now I can customize the outline.
