The problem disappeared immediately after I reloaded.

The code (session.class.php, line 252) appears to be trying to create an .htaccess file in www which AFAIK is prohibited.

No more .htaccess files. I think that this one is invalid. I'm also moving it out of Phoenix and into Website.
