Description Matthew Khouzam CLA 2010-12-21 15:16:38 EST
Build Identifier: M20100909-0800

The color scheme for the control flow view has several colors that may be percieved as ambiguous on lower quality displays.

It may be worthwhile re-assigning Zombie and SoftIRQ to different colors as they resemble syscall and wait respectively.

Use case: a field technician on her old laptop computer loads a trace without a desktop nearby, or shows the results on a projector.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load the LTTng view on a low quality screen,
2. Open up the control flow view and a trace.
3. Spot the difference between a syscall and a zombie process or a softirq and a wait

A little precision, this is not an issue with the resolution, this has to do with the color fidelity. More reading can be done here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamut and an example of monitor quality can be found here http://www.anandtech.com/show/3940, a laptop or pretty much any DLP projector with a color wheel.
