Clone dialog showing no progress

On fairly large repositories with many objects, Eclipse seems to be "frozen" for a very long time. Clicking on the red square icon (I guess it's the cancel icon), seemingly has no effect (due to the current clone operation taking so long and a cancel event is perhaps only recognized once the clone has finished). I've attached a screenshot, which represents the EGit clone dialog for roughly 15 minutes when cloning the below repository.

I would strongly suggest to update the objects counter so as to report some kind of progress until the progress bar is actually showing progress. It appears that during the objects counting phase no progress is visible in the UI.

Steps to reproduce:
1.) File => Import => Git => Import from Git => Clone
2.) Enter repo: git://git.fedorahosted.org/git/rhq/rhq.git
3.) Keep default selection (all branches).
4.) Next
5.) Finish

I should add that rhq.git has > 270,000 objects. It's counting for a long time ;-)
