Description

Would you mind installing correct version of main plug-in for those connectors? Detailed explanations in bug #332442. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 332442 *** Sorry I have to reopen this bug. Play that: - Download Eclipse Helios (3.6.1) e.g. IDE for Java developers. - Install 'Subversive SVN Team Provider (Incubation) 0.7.9.I20100512-1900' from 'Helios - http://download.eclipse.org/releases/helios'. This version is the default and newest under the Helios repository. - After you where asked to restart switch to the SVN Repository Perspective. - The 'Install Connectors' dialog shows up to install some connectors. There you can select what ever you want and you will fail (see screen shot) and log. To get the SVN somehow working on a 3.6 I downloaded a connector repository from your website's archive - 'Subversive-connectors-2.2.1.I20091215-1700.zip' and provided an p2 repository for our company. Is that the way to go? I think you mixed up the repository versions for IndigoM4 and Helios. Created attachment 185258 [details]

I understand the whole thing, but still you're not quite right about it. There was an issue with update sites layout for "release" versions, meaning that a different releases had references to the same connectors update site location. Approximately a month ago we have decided to correct this issue, so that there will be no problems with the future releases. Unfortunately there is no way for us to fix the Helios repository at this stage and the right way to avoid the issue is to install the latest plug-in version from the "Early access" update site. It is not the realease but development build, but it still stable and better because it contains a lot of fixes for different issues. Hope it will help to solve your problem. P.S. I think I will place this explanation in the F.A.Q. section on the download page so it will help people to avoid the issue. I'm still not sure we do understand each other. 2 days ago I did exactly the same with success. I really belief you did update your connector repository to the indigo release to satisfy the automated build for M4. If so I do not understand why you took the same connector repository URL for Indigo instead of providing a new repository. For 'normal' Eclipse users it is almost not possible to bring up a running Subversive on 3.6. Therefore I would investigate some minutes to fix this 'bug'. (In reply to comment #5) > ... If so I do not understand why you took > the same connector repository URL for Indigo instead of providing a new > repository. It is somewhere around those lines. Actually the Helios repository contains Subversive version which refers to the same connectors update site as the Subversive version from the Galileo repository. So, this is where the bug is actually located. But there is no way to correct Helios repository now, right? That is why the simplest way to avoid the situation is to install the latest Subversive version, i.e. not from the Helios repository. In order to avoid any complications just install main plug-in and connectors from these update sites respectively: http://download.eclipse.org/technology/subversive/0.7/update-site/ http://community.polarion.com/projects/subversive/download/eclipse/2.0/update-site/ P.S. We can't do a thing about Helios repository now, so please just use the proposed URL's. Did anybody try the suggested solution? - Download eclipse-rcp-helios-SR1-win32.zip from any mirror - Install Subversive support form http://download.eclipse.org/technology/subversive/0.7/update-site/ and http://community.polarion.com/projects/subversive/download/eclipse/2.0/update-site/ End up with the same error. Please try exactly what I described and you will fail as well. This bug exists since about 1 week before it WORKED! Second try it worked. Thank you Alex. |
