It appears that the only way to fully save the state of an Eclipse workspace is to successfully close Eclipse (or to switch workspaces, which forces a restart of Eclipse). This causes problems when something goes wrong with Eclipse, and Eclipse either has to be forced to close or Eclipse crashes - and the workspace comes back either in an earlier state, or broken altogether.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Use Eclipse, with a workspace
2.Have something terrible go wrong with Eclipse, forcing a crash.
3.restart Eclipse and observe the state of the workspace against the earlier workspace state.

You're talking about how the _layout_ of the workbench is not preserved after the crash, correct?
