Description
Ant Kutschera
This works for me in 3.7. Ant, can you try 3.7 to confirm? Hello As I am new to using this Site, I don't know, where to look fpr the Version-Number. I installed Eclipse new about 2 Weeks ago. Just now Version "Eclipse Helios (3.6.2)" is downloadable, and so I believe, I have just that Version, too. So, I don't understand where I could get Version 3.7. The Problem described above is still current within my Version. Is there a hidden Place, where I could tell the Window to remember its size? Regards Mario +1 I'm working with 3.6.1 (classic) and have the same problem...i want to fix the problem in my current version and not to download new one. There are no plans to back-port any of the work we did for pop-up resizing to 3.6.x, so unfortunately you will have to update to 3.7.x. marking as WORKSFORME Just downloaded Indigo (Developers build, 64 bit Windows) a few Minutes ago. Doesn't seem to be fixed? (In reply to comment #5) > Just downloaded Indigo (Developers build, 64 bit Windows) a few Minutes ago. > Doesn't seem to be fixed? Thats very odd, I tested on Linux and Win7 64bit using: Version: 3.7.0 Build id: I20110322-0800 and it works fine. I use: Version: Indigo Release Build id: 20110319-2305 Help says: Eclipse Platform 3.7.0.I20110310-1119 Maybe I downloaded something wrong? eclipse.org offers only "Eclipse Helios (3.6.2)" in the download section. So I looked into section "Developer Builds" and fetched "Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers, 216 MB". I also use Win 7 64 bit. For me there are too many numbers - where exactly do I find the numbers we would need to compare build id version etc.? Could you please explain where you got your Version from? I got mine some minutes before I posted the last msg, but yours seem much newer. Thx a lot (In reply to comment #7) > > For me there are too many numbers - where exactly do I find the numbers we > would need to compare build id version etc.? Help menu > About. In the resulting dialog the information is available in the text area. > > Could you please explain where you got your Version from? I grab mine from: http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/ with 3.7-m7, it remembers the size after ctrl-shift-i, but not the position. hovering over the variable opens something different, where unfortunately position and size is not remembered. I'm reopening this bug, because if you hit ctrl+shift+i or select "inspect" from the context menu, it now works again. BUT if you simply hover over a variable, the window always has the same mini size... I'm reopening this bug, because if you hit ctrl+shift+i or select "inspect" from the context menu, it now works again. BUT if you simply hover over a variable, the window always has the same mini size... Im using: Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers. Version: Indigo Release Build id: 20110615-0604 32 Bit, Java 1.6.0_19 on Windows7. There is nothing debug can do to persist / restore the size for this kind of pop up. The hover framework seems to enforce a maximum size that the hover can be prior to it opening. Markus, is there a mechanism to allow a hover to open at a persisted size? For example the JavaDebugHover tries to open the hover at 803x432 (my persisted test size), but in AbstractInformationControlManager, that sizing is pruned down to 602x182. Same is true even for 'Run Configurations' and 'Debug Configurations' window pop-ups. If you re-size, and then click on some other Launch Configuration, the whole window reset allowing very little visible space for 'Program Arguments' and 'VM arguments' text area in the 2nd tab on these pop-up windows. This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie. |
