1) use the following snippet and place the caret as specified
	void bar() {
		foo();
|			foo();   //caret at beginning of this line
	}

2) Ctrl+I => Caret jumps to new position

This is to keep the Ctrl+I aligned with pressing Tab in Smart mode. I don't see any benefit in changing the current behavior.
