Description
Gary
cc-ing Scott & Lakshmi, as they have Snow Leopard Gary, Do you get the exception on plain Eclipse download? (without any other 3rd party plugins) Yes it's a standard eclipse download. Doesnt matter if 32 or 64 bit, Carbon or Cocoa. Always get the same issue. Are you able to create a new workspace? You may need to reset the 'Installed JREs', as the classpaths occasionally change from one release to the next. Go to Preferences -> Installed JREs, and select 'JVM 1.6.0'. Click 'Edit...' and then 'Restore Default' in the dialog that appears. This should re-find all of the JARs in the JRE system libraries. Scott, Thanks for getting back to me. I cant create a new workspace when using the apple JRE, as my issue is the fact that Eclipse will not launch at all. I have created an empty workspace when booting with SoyaLatte and have reset the default for the standard apple JRE. This didnt change any jar locations, and is still failing. in exactly the same way. I have read about compatibility issues with xerces.jar and java 1.6 and found one of those lingering in an extensions folder and deleted it. But still no joy :-( Cheers Gary Mike, do you have any idea why the xerces parser might not be found? See also bug 301815 and bug 330193 for similar-ish reports relating to XML parsers. Moving to Runtime for comment. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 330193 *** |
