Problem with Scripted Dataset parameter none

Description Mark Mescher CLA 2010-11-24 10:37:58 EST
Hi out there,
I have a problem with the designer (2.6.1) when using scripted Data Sets (Java based event handler). Just try the following:
Create a new Sripted Data Set and add some Output Columns and a Parameter. Save your report.
Now add one more parameter and save again -> everything should work till now.
Now switch to the advanced properties tab of the dataset and add an event handler (must not be a real event handler, can be something like "test"). Save your report.
Now add one more parameter to your dataset and leave the dialog. Try to save, it will not work. Save is disabled and will never be enabled again until you close and open the report again.
Solution: Open your report, make some change e.g. to a table (save button will be enabled) and add the parameter after this. Than you can save your report.

It seems this problem doesnt occur in Designer 2.6.0, so its specific to the current version. It also occurs on Windows XP, not only with Vista.

If someone need I can provide an example rptdesign.

Thanks a lot

Mark

I can not reproduce this issue in the 2.6.1 release and latest 2.6.2.

Could you please attache the example report here?

Created attachment 183854 [details]
Problem with Scripted Dataset parameter

Do the following: Open the report, doubleclick on Data Set "Test", switch to parameter and add one (or edit an existing). Close the dialog and try to save.
If you cant reproduce it again I may provide a video...

Best regards

Mark

Ok, I can reproduce this issue in the 2.6.1 release now.

But I tried with latest 2.6.2 build, this issue is not reproducible any more.
Is there any chance you could try with the latest 2.6.2 build?

Hi,
where can I get a prerelease for 2.6.2 to test it? I didnt found a binary for this. When will 2.6.2 be released? There are no informations to this release in the releasemap!

Best regards

Mark

2.6.2 release follows the same schedule as Helios SR2 (http://wiki.eclipse.org/Helios/Simultaneous_Release_Plan#SR2).

You can try with the latest 2.6.2 N-build to verify this issue.(http://download.eclipse.org/birt/downloads/build_list.php)
