Description Sam Davis CLA 2010-11-22 17:07:12 EST
Sometimes when I try to alt+click something in the package explorer, I miss and alt+click the whitespace instead, causing everything to be unfiltered, which takes about a second. Then my package explorer is full of things I don't care about and I have to turn filtering off and back on to get back the view I had before. This is very annoying. I think it would better to use ctrl+alt+click for whitespace and just alt+click when clicking on a node.

I am concerned that adding a another key-binding for Alt+click would make it even harder for users to discover this feature. It sounds like there are two problems here:

* Unfiltering the root takes too long: Tracked on bug 267143.
* It's hard to leave Alt+click mode.

Shawn, to address the latter, could we add a binding for the Esc key?
