When browsing changesets in the History view of Eclipse it would be cool if one could easily create a task context prepopulated with the artifacts touched in that changeset and either create a new task by doing that or simply attach that context to an existing task.

I could also imagine a "bulk mode" where Mylyn scans commits containing issue id's, creates a task context from the commit and automatically attaches those to the issue referenced. Of course this should be led through some wizard to review the result but it would be extremely helpful to "mylynize" an already existing codebase.

Reproducible: Always

Good idea. Are you using Subversion? We are planning to implement related framework support as part of the Mylyn Versions project. The first goal is to support linking tasks to changesets. Should be fairly straight forward to support creation of contexts based on that.

Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1].

We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub.
