Bug 330514

Summary: Value of the "osgi.instance.area" property (and possibly other OSGI-based properties) contains blanks

Description Isaac Shabtay CLA 2010-11-17 15:00:04 EST
Build Identifier: 20100617-1415

According to the documentation, Eclipse "locations" (such as osgi.instance.area) are URL's. However, on Windows, when a workspace is located at a path with a blank, the "osgi.instance.area" property contains a string such as:

file:/C:/Documents and Settings/user/workspace/

Notice the blanks... These should be converted to %20.

Now, I'm not sure where the fault really is. I'm guessing Ant is receiving the "osgi.instance.area" value from the platform, but I may be wrong. Either way, the problem is either with the Ant tooling or with deeper in the platform.

Unless I'm smoking something cheap in which case I'll be glad to stand corrected.

Isaac

Reproducible: Always

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
