I've posted this thread to the forum, but no one answers, so...

Is it possible to use Ctrl+Right Mouse to invoke a "File Search" just like Ctrl+Left Mouse to jump to function declaration.

If the current release can't, is it possible to add this feature? Because it will be very very convenience, so i select the text i want to search and "Ctrl+Right Mouse", without to click the "O.K." again, the result will be showed in the "Search View" - cool.

And i can config the setup, so that the result in "search view" can be expanded by default or not, so i don't have to click "Expand All" every time after search.

And Ctrl+ Middel Mouse Up/Down Scroll instead of alt + <-, alt + -> for Backward/Forward History.

No, but there is Ctrl+Shift+G to search for references in the workspace and Ctrl+G to search for text.
It would also be possible to add hyperlink support for that, but AFAICT this cannot be assigned to a right click.

Hi,

Ctrl+Shift+G search the entire workspace, is different as "File Search", :)

Why not right click? We spend a lot of time at code searching/reviewing. The normally situation is the left hand on keyboard, and the right hand on mouse. So if i can assign "Right Click" to invoke some frequently invoked tasks, i don't have to leave my right hand from mouse to keyboard and back...:)

E.g. "Babylon" uses "Ctrl + Right Click" for translate - since long ago.

What exactly do you mean by "File Search"?

This is not supported by the Eclipse platform.

With "File Search" i mentioned, to search the selected working set - i can choose the entire workspace, i also can choose a specify working set.
Sorry for the misunderstanding...:)

What a pity that the platform won't support the mouse action. :(

You can assign a key binding for e.g. Search References in Working Set (see Keys preference page), but you cannot assign it to Right Click + Modifier.

Closing as WONTFIX on the basis that this requires platform support that isn't there.

Please feel free to file a bug in the Platform component asking for this support.

(If that gets implemented, and you'd then like a change to CDT such as a shortcut installed by default, please feel free to reopen this bug.)
