Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Selecting from Ubuntu main menu Applications\Programming\Eclipse
2. Eclipse splashscreen opens, then it shows an error message 
"An error has occurred. See the log file /home/matteo/workspace/.metadata/.log." and Eclipse does not open.

Eclipse 3.2.2 is no longer supported, please use a newer version of Eclipse.

GCJ is not supported, please use another Java runtime environment.
