Description Fredrik Berg Kjolstad CLA 2010-11-12 17:54:18 EST
If I try to launch a Parallel Application Run Configuration that is tied to a Resource Manager that is not running PTP reports that the "Specified resource manager not found or is not available".

It would be more helpful (and much easier for a beginner) if I got a message along the following lines:
"The Resource Manager for <configuration name> is currently stopped. Do you want to start it? [Yes|No]\n [checkbox] Perform this action automatically in the future.", which is the way such things are usually handled in eclipse.

Furthermore, when I try to start/stop a Resource Manager (probably the most common operation on them by far), I have to bring up the context menu and select from the last two items. If it is stopped and I double click on it it opens up the edit menu (something the user would probably need to do less). If it is started and I double click it shows me the treeview menu. The following two changes would save the users many clicks:
- Change so that a double clicking on a resource manager toggles it on/off (when started the user can see the treview by clicking the arrow (if this is technically possible in the eclipse framework))
- Move the start/stop entries in the context menu to the top as they will be used more often than the other entries

Lastly, when I click on the Run Last Configuration button in the toolbar it launches the last non-parallel configuration even if my last run was with a parallel configuration.

Steps to reproduce:

Issue 1:
1. Create a Parallel Application Configuration
2. Turn off the resource manager
3. Lauch the Parallel Application Configuration

Issue 2:
1. Open the Parallel Runtime perspective
2. Create a Resource Manager
3. Double-click on the Resource Manager
4. Open up the context menu of the Resource Manager

Issue 3:
1. Create a Parallel Application Configuration
2. Run the Parallel Application Configuration
3. Press the Run button in the toolbar or select Run->Run

I've split these into three bugs.

I believe these have all been fixed. They should be available in 5.0.4.
