Bug 330043

Summary: RSE:AIX/USS File delete fails after rename. MVS is ok.
Product: [Tools] Target Management Reporter: Saurabh Dua <saurabh>
Component: RSEAssignee: dsdp.tm.rse-inbox <tm.rse-inbox>
Status: CLOSED WORKSFORME QA Contact: Martin Oberhuber <mober.at+eclipse>
Severity: normal
Priority: P3 CC: dmcknigh
Version: 3.0.3
Target Milestone: 3.2.1
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows XP
Whiteboard:

Description Saurabh Dua CLA 2010-11-11 15:53:23 EST
Build Identifier: IES 3.4.1 with RDz 7.5.1

- Copy and Paste a file in the Remote System view. The user was root but it should fail with a non root user. The paste in my case created "Copy of rse4042.log"
- Rename the pasted file, "aCopy of rse4042.log" The file name does not matter as long as the name has been modified.
- Delete the file name.
- The file CANNOT be Deleted

If the file is not renamed it can be deleted.

If the file is renamed AND the view is refreshed the file CAN be deleted.

Expected Result:
The file should be deleted.

Actual Result:
After the file has been renamed it cannot be deleted UNTIL A REFRESH ON THE VIEW IS DONE.

The following error message is shown:

THIS FAILS ON BOTH AIX AND USS. MVS deletes just fine.

Deletion of the object /tmp/aerase/aCopy of rse4042.log/tmp/aerase/aCopy of rse4042.log failed

Either the object does not exist or you do not have enough authority to delete the object. If this is a folder, the folder may not be empty

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Copy and Paste a file in the Remote System view. The user was root but it should fail with a non root user. The paste in my case created "Copy of rse4042.log"
- Rename the pasted file, "aCopy of rse4042.log" The file name does not matter as long as the name has been modified.
- Delete the file name.
- The file cannot be deleted

Can you see if the same problem can be reproduced in later versions of RSE (i.e. 3.2.1)? I think the problem may have been fixed already.

Setting target milestone since it appears this was fixed at some point before TM 3.2.1
