SysML relationships show their names in diagram which takes space without providing useful information to users.
The name should be masked.

Like compartment visibility management, the link labels visibility preference should be manage at preference level.
If the name is not shown in diagram, it is important to ensure that the user can easily locate the relationship in the model explorer.

The current version allows specific CSS-based customization. Users can easily choose to hide all name labels from specific edges.

Hi Camille,

I do not fully agree with your point of view.  I would think that the bug report is about the "default" visibility of name element.
I would think that in 95% of the cases, modelers do _not_ want to see the name of the association.

With the CSS approach, you still force 95% of the users to apply a stylesheet.  With a more sensible default, only 5% (typically the advanced users) will have to create a stylesheet, which seems a better strategy IMHO.

Bug 440140 implements a generic stylesheet to hide name labels for most UML links (By default)
