Description Bernhard Merkle CLA 2010-11-08 20:58:20 EST
Build Identifier:

I tried to install Xtext 2.0.0 (nightly build) via the update site however it does not work. (checkbox contact all update sites for req. software is on)

Seems that the site misses some additional packages...

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Xtext Runtime 2.0.0.v201011060924 (org.eclipse.xtext.runtime.feature.group 2.0.0.v201011060924)
Missing requirement: Xtext Generator 2.0.0.v201011060924 (org.eclipse.xtext.generator 2.0.0.v201011060924) requires 'bundle org.eclipse.xtend 1.1.0' but it could not be found
  Cannot satisfy dependency:
    From: Xtext Runtime 2.0.0.v201011060924 (org.eclipse.xtext.runtime.feature.group 2.0.0.v201011060924)
    To: org.eclipse.xtext.generator [2.0.0.v201011060924]

Reproducible: Always

Are Xpand and MWE nightly sites also added to the update manager?
Xpand: http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/m2t/xpand/updates/nightly/
MWE: http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/emft/mwe/updates/nightly/

thanks for the hint. this resolved the problem
Comment 3 Dennis Huebner CLA 2010-11-09 05:19:00 EST
Adding required update sites solves the problem
Comment 4 Bernhard Merkle CLA 2010-11-09 05:20:30 EST
BTW. the initial problem was that the ALL-in-one update site

http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/download.php?file=/modeling/tmf/xtext/downloads/drops/2.0.0/N201011090317/tmf-xtext-Update-N201011090317.zip

did NOT work.

I assume that a ALL-in-one update site is selfcontained and does not need
additional nightly update-site to be activated.
Is that assumption wrong ? (or is the ALL-in-one update site broken) ?

All in one means, all Xtext bundles in one. It's a default/common update site zip name for modeling projects.
