Description Nathan Gervais CLA 2010-11-05 13:51:05 EDT
I've been working on a mobile (txt only) version of Planet Eclipse. I've had Matt take care of some of the domain work (mobile.planeteclipse.org) now i need to get this file to you guys so i can see how it outputs.

Created attachment 182505 [details]
patch for m.html.tmpl

This file will generate a mobile version of the website.
Comment 2 Nathan Gervais CLA 2010-11-05 13:58:45 EDT
Essentially i've stripped all the image and CSS info from the current feed, but i need to see how this behaves on the server.

This patch will not affect anything on the current Planet site.

Nice! Will have a look. Do we also have some auto-redirect thing?

Nathan, I think the "feed name" on the left should be moved to the top as well. It's just space with the name somewhere in the middle. Maybe it should be part of the title?
Comment 5 Nathan Gervais CLA 2010-11-07 14:30:08 EST
Thanks for adding the file, i needed to see how it would output. Im guessing by feed name you mean the author's name. I agree i'll move it into the title.

The auto-redirect stuff is all server side stuff that i've worked with Matt on. When this page is in shape we'll enable the server side stuff.
Comment 6 Gunnar Wagenknecht CLA 2010-11-07 14:33:28 EST
Not sure if a redirect is necessary. I can set it up so that it goes to an index.html file within a "mobile" subfolder. Matt could setup a virtual host that points directly into that subdir. As far as typing goes, I'd suggest "m.planeteclipse.org".
Comment 7 Nathan Gervais CLA 2010-11-07 14:37:32 EST
I've got mobile.planeteclipse.org as well as m.planeteclipse.org waiting in the wings :D

Thanks for applying the patch.

I've looked at it on Android + iOS devices and its seems to do the job. I'm not a huge mobile device user. Any feedback?
