In the JMS config editor, we have a requirement to convey default values for
all destination properties coming from a template. Several of these
properties are list properties. We need both modeling API for dealing with
default values in list properties and the UI support in the list property
editor.

Wanted to add that in addition to list properties, we have a requirement for default values for element properties as well.
