Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new file named "foo.xls" in a folder in your workspace.
2. Right-click on the file and choose Open With->In-Place Editor

Many toolbar icons are disabled, such as New, Open, Save, Permission, Email, Print, Print Preview. The File menu also does not let me save the file.

I am able to save the file only if I edit the Excel spreadsheet, close the editor, and choose "Yes" when prompted to save changes.

OS: Windows XP SP 3
Excel versions tried: Excel 2003 and Excel 2007

Yes,unfortunately,I also sufferred the bug,and Save button disabled after closing opend-file.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant, please remove the "stalebug" whiteboard tag.
