There is a new compiler diagnostic in I20101025-1800 that found the following problem:

The value of the field XMLMemento.DOMWriter.tab is not used	XMLMemento.java	/org.eclipse.debug.core/core/org/eclipse/debug/internal/core	line 463	Java Problem


Looks like the field "tab" can safely be removed.
