The Scala IDE for Eclipse uses JDT weaving, but users typically don't have AJDT installed, so in the RenameJavaElementActionAspect, the `IRefactoringProvider provider` is null (as indicated by the source code comment) and leads to a NPE on line 41.

Thanks for reporting this.  I'll fix this for the release of AJDT 2.1.1 coming out on Thursday.

Fix is now available in latest dev build for Eclipse 3.6.
