Do you have this problem with the Eclipse SDK? http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/R-3.6.1-201009090800/index.php Where did you unzip Eclipse to? Do other people you know have the same problem? What do you actually see when you go 'Window > Preferences > Install/Update > Available Software Sites'? That's strange, eclipse-jee-helios-SR1-win32.zip, on a new workspace, has the sites for Helios, Mylyn, WTP, and the Eclipse project itself. I installed (unzipped) Eclipse to c:\Program Files\Eclipse EE 3.6.1 I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional. Right after installing Eclipse, when I went to 'Window > Preferences > Install/Update > Available Software Sites' it was empty - there were no sites listed. So I tried adding sites. Now it's populated with lots of sites. This seems to have happened magically without my intervention. Does Eclipse have to search for the sites on the network? Does this mean there is some lag between running Eclipse for the first time and when it goes and finds the sites? Did something else happen for it to find all those sites? The only thing special I did was install the Scala plugin, and add the site for that. Either way it was a frustrating experience that made no sense. (In reply to comment #3) > I installed (unzipped) Eclipse to c:\Program Files\Eclipse EE 3.6.1 Since you played it in "Program Files", it may be a manifestation of bug 249133. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 249133 *** |
