As part of the DSDP Restructuring, MTJ will become a subproject of tools.sequoyah.

Necessary steps are:

*Create project tools.sequoyah.mtj in Foundation Database
*Move Website: /dsdp/mtj to /mtj
*Move CVS: /cvsroot/dsdp/org.eclipse.mtj to /cvsroot/tools/org.eclipse.mtj
*Move download directory: /downloads/dsdp/mtj to /downloads/mtj
*Move build
*Move Bugzilla Product: DSDP/MTJ to Tools/MTJ
*Move IPZilla Product: dsdp/dsdp.mtj to tools/tools.sequoyah.mtj
*Move existing committers
*Mark dsdp.mtj project as inactive in Foundation Database

tools.sequoyah.mtj project has been created in the foundation database.

Is there anything on the project side that prevents us from starting the move?

Thanks,
Sharon
Comment 3 Gorkem Ercan CLA 2010-11-10 08:38:49 EST
Nothing prevents us from moving forward really. I also would like to move the project to Git repositories during this move.

How should we proceed should I start creating bug reports for the infrastructure items?
Comment 4 Eclipse Webmaster CLA 2010-11-10 15:37:38 EST
I think we can handle the details here. Once Sharon gives the go ahead, we need to pick a time to move things and we should be ok.

Legal paperwork has been verified for all active MTJ committers. There are no barriers. Webmaster, can you please script the necessary committer changes in the DB.

I've also moved all DSDP.MTJ CQs to tools.sequoyah.mtj in Ipzilla.

Over to Webmaster...

Thanks,
Sharon

I'd like to do this move(unless the project objects) Monday Feb 21st.

Comment 7 Gorkem Ercan CLA 2011-02-08 14:31:33 EST
No objections, Feb21 sounds perfect. Will you be able to move our repo to git at that time?
Comment 8 Eclipse Webmaster CLA 2011-02-08 14:36:14 EST
Sure if that's what you want.

Comment 9 Eclipse Webmaster CLA 2011-02-21 12:40:42 EST
Ok, here's where we are:

1) I've moved the website from /dsdp/mtj to /mtj (in keeping with our 'flattening' of the project space).
2) Ditto the downloads and archive areas.
3) The components in IPzilla and Bugzilla have been moved.
4) All of the committers have been moved, and the old project marked inactive in the DB.
5) I've updated the keys for the project info data so that the dsdp.mtj data will display for tools.sequoyah.mtj. The project will need to make sure the data is up to date.
6) The dsdp/mtj build areas under shared/ and shared/download-staging.priv have been moved to tools/mtj
7) I've created a new git repo with the CVS data here: git.eclipse.org/gitroot/mtj/org.eclipse.mtj.git , and have marked CVS as read only. In a few months I'll remove the old data.

I think that's it. Let me know if things aren't right.

Oooops. I just realized that Wayne has listed the obsolete CVS repo but MTJ for sometime actively uses the svn repositories. Git repo should be populated from SVN.

Also www.eclipse.org/mtj gives 404 for me.
Comment 11 Gorkem Ercan CLA 2011-02-21 13:01:16 EST
reopening for SVN to Git move and the http://www.eclipse.org/mtj problem
Comment 12 Eclipse Webmaster CLA 2011-02-22 11:34:53 EST
I'm working on building the git-svn import tools.

Comment 13 Eclipse Webmaster CLA 2011-02-22 15:59:08 EST
Ok, I think I've finally got the SVN data imported.

Gorkem, can you verify the Git repo is as you expect?

I have not yet tried to push something but otherwise everything seems to be in place
Comment 15 Gorkem Ercan CLA 2011-03-22 11:13:53 EDT
I think we do not have anymore left to do on this.
