I am preparing some content to publish in our wiki that should provide guidelines how MAT API can be used to extract data from heap dumps and extend the tool.
I'll track the progress in this message.

I renamed the page to http://wiki.eclipse.org/MemoryAnalyzer/Adding_a_new_heap_dump_format_to_the_Memory_Analyzer some time ago and changed the contents a bit. Please feel free to merge the content into one of the other pages about extending MAT.

I am closing the message as there are no concrete plans for further changes.
Wiki is of course something that is continuously improved so further changes will happen, but we could track if needed the progress in further messages.
