neither [file] or [file] @ main have an effect in a template. 

(nothing in the error log..)

Fixed in both 3.0.2RC2 and 3.1.0M5.

This ultimately came from the Eclipse "template" mechanism that doesn't allow for variables with dash (-) characters embedded while we were trying to set the file block's encoding (usually has a dash, be it UTF-8, CP-1252, ISO-8859-1, ...) as a variable in the replacement template.
