During the UML2 Export any error is covered up by a NPE making it difficult/impossible to find the root cause of the problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Happens everytime a failure occurs, for example when you try to export to a directory that does not exist, or that is write protected.

Fixes NPE while error is encountered in UML2 export. Also asks the user if they would like to create the export directory if it does not already exist.
