Severity: major

1. disable to use the capping algo
2. compare two very large files with each other (e.g.:
   /org.eclipse.jdt.ui/dictionaries/en_GB.dictionary
  /org.eclipse.jdt.ui/dictionaries/en_US.dictionary
3. in the dialog click cancel
==> after a long time the compare editor still opens but shows no diff. This is very misleading as there is no indication that the result is wrong. Either the editor must not be closed, opened empty or have a very visible indication that the result is wrong (simple info is not enough).

It's a dupe of bug 325748.

(See bug 322329, comment 28)

I will bump its priority in a second.
