Description cenright CLA 2010-09-29 17:49:44 EDT
Build Identifier:

We are using IEHSc 3.4.2 in our info center. Users can't find our error messages by searching within the IC. Instead of searching for DGL3784A, they search for DGL3784 without the "A" and the search finds nothing. http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/cmgmt/v8r4m0/index.jsp

The search works with wildcard characters, but nobody uses them anymore. Should we enable stemming in the search results?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/cmgmt/v8r4m0/index.jsp
2. Search for DGL3784. Find nothing.
3. Search for DGL3784A. Find the topic.

This still seems to be broken in Juno Service Release 2. Find doesn't find anything but whole words, no substrings.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
