Description Wayne Beaton CLA 2010-09-29 14:51:34 EDT
The DSDP Restructuring/Termination review is complete. This bug has been opened to track the necessary changes. Before these steps can be followed, however, the bugs for the various subprojects must be resolved. These bugs will be created over the next few hours as dependencies.

Here's what needs to happen:

* Archive website: /dsdp
* Archive downloads directory: /downloads/dsdp
* Retire all committers
* Retire Architecture, Requirements, and Planning Council appointees
* Inform Eclipse Board of Directors, revoke the project charter.

While I'm waiting for Gorkem to confirm the Git repo in bug 327953, that shouldn't stop us here as all of the 'sub' projects have been moved/closed.

I'll generate the archive file, close the dsdp-dev and dsdp-pmc mailinglists and newsgroup and retire the committers.

Anything I'm missing?

It turns out that we have some lingering dependencies. Let's hold for the time being.

In order to prepepare archival and re-claim resources on build.eclipse.org,
I have moved the contents of

    build.eclipse.org:/shared/dsdp/*

into

    build.eclipse.org:/shared/dsdp/obsolete-see-bug-326575

this will help us have data available for restoring easily, in case it turns out any legacy build or website still needs stuff from that folder. I suggest keeping it like this for a while before physically removing that folder.

I could not move /shared/dsdp/dd due to lack of permissions (but dd has been under CDT for years now, so removing that shouldn't be an issue).

Doug, can you confirm that this directory is no longer necessary?

Sorry... i.e. that the build for DD has been taken over by CDT?

Yes, DD has been fully integrated into the CDT for the last two years.

Webmaster, can you please kill off /shared/dsdp/dd ?

It's gone.

Are we done here?
Comment 10 Martin Oberhuber CLA 2011-09-30 10:55:33 EDT
I think so ...
Comment 11 Eclipse Webmaster CLA 2011-09-30 13:21:29 EDT
Ok, I've generated an archive and placed it here: http://archive.eclipse.org/dsdp/archive/dsdp.tgz. I've cleaned up the dsdp website,cvs and downloads.

I think that's it.

I'm going to declare victory on behalf of the PMC.

I have deactivated all PMC members and marked the top-level project inactive/archived.
