Latest hypothesis: another bug manifested in M build stream (bug 326473) that leads me to believe I was installing the unit tests twice, the correct ones and then again the ones from previous release (as we do on purpose for patch builds). Even if similar or same, that's bound to mess things up. So, I've corrected the build scripts and restarted anther I build. Not exactly sure why it only effects JPT tests ... but those are done a little differently. That was it.
