Description Hitesh CLA 2010-09-21 05:10:06 EDT
NPE and InjectionExceptions thrown while opening Error log view from quick access, followed by a number of failures. For example, opening views, reset perspective, close/open perspective , close eclipse, etc. See attached log file for details.

We don't see that. Anything happening at that time? How many perspectives did you have open?

For example, were there any errors in the log before you tried to open the Error Log? If you restart, does the problem persist?

You might need to delete your <workspace>/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.e4.ui.workbench/deltas.xml to get into stable state, and then maybe you can reproduce it.

Which build are you using? CTRL+3 cbi should copy out the build id.

I do not remember the other details. If I run into the problem again, I'll try noting down the exact details.

Yep!! I am beginning to learn that deleting deltas.xml is a magic trick to fix any such weird problem :) . But with that I also lose the customizations of a perspective.

The log may have missed out details of some older session as I use the same workspace. The build id : I20100916-1954-win32

Seems to be working fine in Eclipse 4.2.1.
