The current release version of PDT crashes when editing PHP files. For a PHP editor, this is a show stopping bug. The editor is unusable.

@zhaozhongwei has stated that the bug is fixed in CVS, which is great.

But the nightly builds of PDT have been broken for months, and therefore nobody can download the working version. Checking out from CVS and building is an extremely complex process for normal users, and therefore not an option.

I also suggest that until the next release, a notice is put on the website encouraging people to download the nightly build instead of the official release, in order to get a working PHP editor.

to follow up on this issue, our nightly builds are back at:
https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/view/Athena CBI/job/cbi-pdt-2.2-helios/

Soon, they should start showing up on PDT website as well.

There are still no recent nightly builds on the official PDT downloads page. The latest nightly is "N201003190915 (2010/03/19)".

Attached patch should help the pdt-2.2 hudson job as per March 2011 - fixing a simple typo in the URL fetching the Eclipse SDK download.
