Apart from the "Top Favorites" ranking there are other code metrics and alternative rankings for projects listed at the Eclipse Marketplace. In particular:
- Code Metrics from Ohloh (http://ohloh.net/)
- Ranking by number of thumbs up/down at SourceForge (http://sf.net/)
- Download statistics at Google Code, SourceForge, etc.

It would be useful to have this information - if available - on the Marketplace website and in the Marketplace Client in order to decide whether to install the plug-in or not.

We can certainly take a look of some of these.  Of course a lot will depend if these other services have apis?   One thing I would like to see added is the number of times a solution has been installed using MPC.   We have the data but just need to added it to the listings.
